Shockwave Therapy is a non-invasive treatment that uses high-energy acoustic waves to stimulate the body's natural healing processes. It effectively treats a variety of musculoskeletal conditions, including chronic pain, tendinopathies, and calcifications.

Benefits of shockwave therapy include:
- Accelerated Healing: Promotes increased blood flow and new blood vessel formation, speeding up the body's repair mechanisms.
- Pain Relief: Reduces pain by disrupting the pain signaling pathways and reducing inflammation.
- Breakdown of Calcifications: Effectively breaks down calcium deposits in tendons and muscles, enhancing mobility and function.
-Non-Invasive: Avoids the need for surgery or medication, reducing recovery time and potential side effects.
- Versatile Treatment: Suitable for a wide range of conditions such as plantar fasciitis, tennis elbow, shoulder pain, and more.

At Backcountry Health, we combine Shockwave Therapy with personalized rehabilitation programs to maximize your recovery and ensure long-lasting results.

Raised by two medical doctors with a penchant for travel, Laura spent her childhood moving every few years, living in Kenya, Wisconsin, Georgia, Zimbabwe and Virginia. She attended the College of William and Mary, graduating magna cum laude with a B.A. in linguistics. When her love of travel called, she spent a year teaching English in Nanjing, China before returning to Virginia and earning a degree in culinary arts. This led her to her first job in Jackson, Wyoming – creating desserts at the Four Seasons. She fell in love with the town and mountains, and soon her “one winter stint” in Jackson turned into six years. Her passion for sports and health conflicted with her work in pastries, and arm deep in cookie dough she decided to make the switch to a career in health. She found the perfect match in chiropractic, and moved to Minnesota to study at Northwestern Health Sciences University.

With a plan to return to Jackson after graduation, Laura focused intently on learning what would help her treat the everyday athletes of Jackson Hole. She worked with the Minnesota Vixen and Minnesota Freeze players, treating sports injuries and creating rehab programs. She is full body certified in Active Release Techniques, certified in Graston and SmartTools, and holds the FMT Performance Certification by RockTape. She has taken continuing education seminars on extremity joints, including the jaw, shoulders, elbows, knees, and feet, and is ready to work on your tennis elbow, dysfunctional knee or plantar fasciitis.
